Unable to save games on Growlanser Generations(pcsx2)

Hello, I do apologize if I am posting in the wrong place but I have an issue where I go to save in growlanser and it still plays music but everything else is frozen, even after restarting 5-6 times(from start of the game) 20+ from savestates I am still unable to get it working (even advice from other forum posts)

If you can give me some advice thanks.

Don't rely on savestates, it's a really bad idea.
