FFIX batlle transition lag abosultely killing me

Hi,

I just started playing FF9 on my ePSXe emulator. Its looks and runs great so far. The only problem I've been having is literally EVERY time I enter into a battle, the transition screen (the swirling screen that brings you to the battle screen) lags like crazy! I'm talking 1 frame per like 3 seconds. once i get into the battle screen everything returns to normal. Its just the transition screen that giving me problems. I'm using Pete's 3D3 Driver 1.77. I've looked at other posts of people having the same issues but none of the fixes that worked for them are working for me. I changed the Gfx crad vram to 128. I enabled the 0x0200 special game fix. None of it is working. Can anyone help? i attached my setting below

Check the video plugin configuration for this game in the PSXDataCenter:

Also, make sure the special fix for FFIX is enabled.
