Talking Wondering the size of a GBA Romset

    I'm stuck at a crossroads...

I want to download a GBA FullROM Set, however, I don't know how many GB it will unpack to...
Has anyone grabbed a GBA Romset and unpacked it?
If so, how many Gigabytes did it take up on your HDD/Portable Memory?

I appreciate any information on this that can be provided, thank you! ^~^

Honestly, I can't reccomend downloading a full set of GBA roms. While the GBA has a bunch of great games in it's libarary, it also has mountains an mountains of horrible shovelware that you are never going to play.

However, I can potentially see why you would want to do this. Maybe you're building a collection of GBA roms from scratch, and you think that downloading a full set and only keeping the roms that you want will be faster than downloading each game you want individually.

If that is the case, I'll download the 1-500 GBA romset from emuparadise's collection of full sets, and I'll tell you how big it is when I unzip it. Then I'll do some math to estimate how big the complete full set would be.

EDIT: The unzipped size is 3.04 gigabytes for GBA roms 1 to 500. The original zip size was 1.52 gigabytes. Thus, the unzipped roms are twice the size of the zipped roms.

Thank you very much for the info. I appreciate the feedback and help!

Also, it's for my let's play channel. I just want to have a variety of ROM's so that if someone
requests a let's play, I won't have to go and grab another ROM.

"What the f*ck are YOU doing here!?"

"Get the f*ck outta my house!" He yelled.

Okay. I suppose that's a fairly good reason.

I'd like to take this opportunity to recommend the No-Intro fullsets over the regular fullsets. I know that at least one rom on emuparadise still contains an "Intro" video that was added on by the group that dumped the rom. I think it was Wolfenstein 3D, dumped by Mode 7. No-Intro, as the name implies, doesn't contain any of these intros, just the data on the original cartridge.

In addition, RetroArch's VBA-M and mGBA cores allow you to play roms that are inside of *.zip files. This enabled me to shrink down my rom library considerably.
