Default Issue With SNES9x on Mac

I for some reason can't get this emulator to run. I downloaded it and ran it and it says it's no longer supported. Anyone know a good SNES emulator I can get for Mac? I have a Macbook Pro and am running Yosemite.

    Thank you!

google would of shown the site in seconds but I just used google myself

    https://www.libretro.com/ just go to downloads

Do note that some cores do require bios images ect SNES does not use a bios though so it's all good for the SNES9x cores

Note I do not know if the Snes9x core will support zip files so you may need to extract the rom files from inside the zips

The other snes core Bsnes that is a supper accurate emulator does require bios images, I could upload those though if needs be though I am on holiday for a good week as of tomorrow so you will have to wait until then

Remind me then any time after the 28th or ask on the forums in a new thread there are a couple of Retroarch users here, though most are PC users (I'm a PC user rather than a Mac user myself)

ZSNES is the best snes emulator from my experience and RetroArch is also one of the best snes emulator.

    ZSNES vs SNES9X

Compat wise the odd game is playable in one but not the other, this goes both ways, one is not better than the other

personally I liked ZSNES more but that does not make it better in any way

Both ZSNES and SNES9X are seriously outdated now anyway though, there are better stand alone SNES emulators like BSNES that can play every single game, that is also included in Retroarch as a core driver

BSNES is very CPU heavy though but mostly because it is aimed at being accurate rather than fast so takes more advantage of today's technology

Retroarch does contain much newer versions than there are available stand alone for Windows and Mac

Higan is worth a mention as it is a fork of BSNES but has changed into a multi system emulator
