Gameboy Advance Emulators crashing after selecting rom

Hello all, I was using visual boy and it worked for a while until it recently just stopped working. None of my roms work, Ive tried downloading the vba over file and extracting it to the same folder where the application is and it doesn't work. Upon getting frustrated I tried various other emulators and all had the same results, just white screens and crash. I then tried downloading new roms assuming that my old ones were the issue and that had no change as well. Either white screen and crash or black screen and crash. I've also tried changing the savetype to flash 128k and have had no success with that either. Thanks for taking the time to read this and help. Very frustrated and just want to play games!

Sounds like a PC issue not an emulator issue

As for save types ect just follow the instructions for vba-over.ini

check your graphics card/chip for updated drivers or check your system update list and see what changed between the emulator working and not working then roll back the system if the option is there to do so

google windows roll back if you do not know how to do that
