If the file is compressed, use a program like 7zip or Winrar to extract the image file.

i have winrar and yes they're always compressed. it will open everything else but the iso file. it will always say that its corrupted. aside from that i can never get the emulator to work, i dont know if its because of windows 7 64bit or something like that because i never had that problem with my windows vista

If the file is corrupt, redownload it. No other way to fix it.
And we don't know what emulator are you running, so read this and post again if the game still does not work after sucesfully extracing it.

keep the folder open as shown in your screen grab

Press F10 to show the Folder menu at the top
Click on Tools then Folder Options (it will open a new window)
Click on the View tab and look for Hide extensions of known file types
Remove the check from that option
    Click Apply then OK

If you want to change the icon from WinRar either do that in WinRAR itself or make it open with CD/DVD software by default instead (you just right click the iso file and hit open with... the next window that opens gives you several options to open it with another prog asides from winRAR as well as a always open with option that should be enabled to make the change) or just don't care and use the above as a way to identify your file

File association does not effect anything else from read the file, so even though you have it associated with WinRAR Pcsx2 or any DVD burning software or any other software that reads *.iso files will stiill be able to fully read the file just fine

P.S. file size is kinda small for an ISO, it does look like it may well be corrupt and has not fully extracted

If you have download issues then use a download manager to download with to ensure the download gets done without issue

Ah ok it's a PSX game, rather than PS2 that I thought, then again there was no mention of the system it was for or the emulator used

I'm going to guess you are using ePSXe

You can find setting at http://psxdatacenter.com/games/U/Y/SLUS-01411.html

http://psxdatacenter.com is worth bookmarking if you want to use ePSXe
