    Default EPSXE 1.7.0, 1.9.0, 2.0.5 black screen.

I'm no tech expert and I just learned how to use EPSXE about a few years back, self-teaching and yeah. Anyway, I guess that was like 2011 when I had this laptop, well, it wasn't one of the famous brands out there but I was able to play almost any game on EPSXE worked well and yeah. I didn't have any IT background so I watched youtube videos and got the emulator going smoothly. Then about 2 years ago I got this Acer V11 Touch Laptop. Still things were going smoothly. Later the same year we got this new computer Acer Aspire ZC-610 and here are the specs or hardware installed (sorry for the wrong terminologies im using, if ever, like i said im no tech expert):

So there. Using 1.7.0 i was able to play Legend of Legaia (my absolute favorite) usingete's OpenGL Driver, using the NICE settings then, epsxe sound core 1.7.0, epsxe cdr wnt/w2k core 1.7.0 for the cdrom, scph1001.bin for the bios. Everything was good even using PEC. I've been playing Legend of Legaia until recently my saves got erased but that's not the issue. I tried to play CTR as well as PACMAN 20th anniversary but both were not playing. Both have black screens and never load as they should. The pacman game loads the NAMCO screen then goes to black screen afterwards. Recently I also tried Crash Bandicoot Warped and Cortex games but to no avail. I watched a ton of youtube videos as well as read forums from different websites. Some were happy the black screen isue was resolved but I cant figure out the tips werent working for me. Im guessing its because of the Graphic card. Ive tried the regedit.exe tip but still not working. I also tried working with different video plugins but still not working. So far only the legend of legaia game is working. I dont know what to do. I want to know if thres a way to make things work wihtout having to replace my video card or i dont know. Im on my wits end...HELP T.T

psxdatacenter.com has working configurations for ePSXe plugins. It's easier than trial and error, but the settings are for high end computers so you may need to adjust some settings to get games running well on your computer.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

did not convert my games. all are in .bin format and it worked perfectly before so i didnt bother to change them whatsoever. I read somewhere there are issues with 64-bit OS. i dont know. i downloaded most of my games from freeroms.com. also, just recently I upgraded to windows 10 and tried to run epsxe 2.0.5. still isnt working. *sigh*.

Windows 64 bit as well as 10 runs ePSXe just fine

We can't give support for files from another site as we can't verify if there are any issues with them

For the sake of compat though setup P.E.Op'S Soft driver for your video plugin (should work with any video chip set)
if you don't already have that, grab it from http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm

boot the bios on it's own (File > Run BIOS)

If the bios runs but the games do not then the issue is with the games
If everything is starting to work now then the issue was with your setup

P.S. I downgraded from windows 10 to 7 because of incompatibilities with a lot of the older software I was using otherwise not had many issues with Windows 10, still better than Vista or 8

from your original post though just sounds like bad disc images, can be caused via converting though you ruled that out but that is not to say it was not messed with prior to uploading another cause could just be running bin files directly instead of running cue files (cue files are needed for any games that use cdda audio (compact disc digital audio) if a cue or ccd is not used only the data track is read that will make some games either not work at all or will freeze up at the first prompt to use any of the music tracks often left at a blank screen)

    Further information
CTR: Crash Team Racing, PAL version or (E) version is LibCrypt protected NTSC or (U) version is not
Pac-Man World 20th Anniversary uses CDDA for music though no version has any sort or protection
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back has no protection and does not use CDDA
Crash Bandicoot: Warped has no protection and does not use CDDA

http://psxdatacenter.com/ is worth a look to get settings per game, aimed at those with good graphic chip sets but apply those to the normal version of OpenGL instead of OpenGL2 that the site uses
