    Default native 32/8

Well thanks to this community ive been rocking retro games on my PC/Wii & Android devices for a while now. just recently actually last night i installed some DVD/Game head rest in our jeep. the Native 32/8 games leave something to be desired from. im wondering if i can get some feedback from this community if there is a way to get these headrests to play retro NES/SNES Saga games. i havent been able to find much information to determine if its feasable or doable. would love to be able to let the kids play retro games while on long car rides on the DVD/Game Head rests.

What storage devices does this use SD DVD CD ect

Also do the games received with this odd device come built in or on external media

What I am hinting at is that you simply look at how the files are stored if they come on external storage like a CD/DVD or SD possibly USB also

Then see if a copy can be used be that SD DVD CD whatever or software from DVD and Roms on SD

Also what games are included, a few examples would do

I have no idea about this er device though and could not tel you if it emulates anything, but does look like it uses it's own custom OS if that is the case I can't see any emulators being dev'd for it

Yeah I think things like this need to be hacked to add/remove games. If there is a card slot it would only be for videos and possibly music. Most I've seen are Chinese so even firmware update via card slot would be quite unusual.

Probably the only option I can think of for extra games without using any extra hardware (I mean plugging some sort of console into the screen a/v input) would be DVD based games...eg DVD versions of the old laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair etc, but there are other DVD based games that just rely on a DVD remote as a controller.

    Spoiler warning:

The System came with a Games CD. but there are more titles that are avalible to download and can be loaded on a SD card. i have yet to check the file formats of the games but will do that this afternoon. they have a site to download extra add-on games again these leave much to be desired from.. here is the site for the game downlaods. they also have a FAQ section that details how to set up the the SD card and load the game files on the card.
here is the link for the game downlaod for the head units

Im thinking my easiest option to get some decent games would be to install a hacked Wii in the back of the Grand Cherokee and discreetly run the wires to the Video & Audio in plugs..... but then only one head unit would be able to play the console at a time unless i`m able to join the two together for 2 player games which might be an option....

yes i do agree some of the more advanced people need to try hacking these systems to bring us travelers some better retro games.

Looks like they are all homebrew games (Games made just for that system) so nothing is emulated well from what I can tell from the downloadable games anyway

I also got 2 DVD headrests with the same system, one for each son. The brand is Pumpkin but it's the same chinese brand found with other reseller names.
I immediately had the same idea as you.

But if you have a compatible smartphone, what you can probably do (I'll have to get an adaptor to test it out) is connect the smartphone to the headrest via MHL/Hdmi and project the smartphone's screen to the headrest. With a bluetooth controller it will work as a bigger screen to play the emulated games on the go.

I have an Xperia Z2 and DS4 controllers at home, I'm only missing the mhl adaptor. My car also has two usb charging ports in the back along with a 12v socket in the back (there's another in the front but I purchased a dual 12v port adaptor from Amazon to power both headrests) so the smartphone battery draining won't be an issue.

It's probably the best way to play emulated games in the car. Don't know if it will work though, but they do publicize that you can connect a phone to the screen via Hdmi.
