Did you try running the PC version of the game?
Spoiler warning:
Temps go higher
Well I'm not sure what I'm looking at tbh, I don't play games on PC.
50c ?
Edit:
Just checked my Pavilion dm1 (no, it's not a netbook), my Radeon HD 6320 is topping 70c.
I'm not playing any games.

50=60c.
Unsure if it's safe, no nothing about laptop temps..
Well my gfx temps run as high as 70c and this thing is still running fine. It has been running pretty much 24/7 for years now, as I use it for torrents.
Just a note; it's summer here atm and ambient temps are usually mid 30s but can go over well 40, especially in situations like me leaving the house all day and the a/c hasn't been on while I'm out.
Spoiler warning:
So I should be fine..
Good
Honestly, idk. My laptop is an AMD machine and I never play PC games
The most work it gets is playing youtube vids and torrents.
I just thought me sharing some basic info about how I have it running all the time might be helpful...it gets rather hot over here and I don't always have the a/c running. I do use an ext fan on this machine though (underneath).
Spoiler warning:
My laptop idles around 50c, goes a tad higher under some load.
RetroArch will make it go higher, don't worry its fine.
But if you wish to know your CPU's max temp there is databases that have those documented.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
When I'm full tilt on a game my gpu hovers at 58-59c on my desktop.
Nope, had to stop playing..
framerate dropped to bad, not playable..
Ryu got the specifics?
What emu/max temp on load/etc.

When PC gamers complain about frame rate drops I'm always a little sceptical of how "bad" the situation is tbh
I mean is it dropping to woeful figures or just dipping down to 30-35fps?
And yeah, having some sort of extra cooling might help. Sitting the thing on a flat surface or even your legs isn't letting it dissipate heat properly. Hell plenty of laptops have had problems with that sort of thing even without pushing hardware due to gaming.

How old is the machine? It may need new thermal paste. On my dell laptop with an i5 3210m i get temps in the 60's playing gamecube and wii games.
