Question N00b Inquiry (How to know which are the US ROMs in a ROMSet)

Good afternoon and happy new year to everyone.

I have a question. I downloaded some of the full rom sets. There are loads of dupes in each one. I am guessing the ones with a J is for japanese (correct me if I am wrong). I want to keep only the ones in english. Which file am I keeping?
    Thank you for your help

    Default

Depends on the sets naming convention used

    Standards are normally

    (U) or (USA) for USA games
    (E) or (Europe) for... you guessed it European games (Never does (E) = English, it always = Europe, even if it has English only that is just coincidence)

    (G) or (De) or (German) or or or well that example is for a German only release even if it is a European release

(J), (E) & (U) games can have multi languages in them including English, so just grabbing the (U) (USA) roms does not guarantee you will have all the english released games, there are some European only games out there that are full english, depending on the system there are even some Jap and asian games that have english included in them e.g. Dead or Alive Extreme (Asia) is in English, but never got an EU or US release

Good Tools Naming standards are listed at
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoodTools

You are better off with a no-intro set if you just want a good copy of each game
good tool sets have tons of junk included in them from bad dumps to dodgy little mods there is even homebrew ect in there also

This is extremely helpful. This will allow me to clean up my raspberry Pi and get more space back.
    Thank you very much
