Default Galaga 3 (Gaplus) ROM not working

I am unable to get Galaga 3 (Gaplus) to work. I can get Galaga to work fine and most other Roms work great, except for one of my favorites.

I am using MAME .180 64bit, I've downloaded all the ROM's and sets for this game and put them in my ROM folder but still can't get it to play.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

there was the same problem with marver vs capcom Zorlon that time was say there is need parent rom
im mostly recomend update bios pack and/or use other MAME fronted in section : http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-...(rev._C)/13045
there is info that its revision C (we can called it edition )
    and :
To use this ROM with MAME you also need to download the following parent ROMGaplus (rev. D) (gaplus)
    and
The highest rated Windows emulator for this game is: MAME 0.142 (64-bit)
    thats all

Thanks, I do have that rom and the parent rom, both in my roms folder. Neither has been unzipped.

I'll try using MAME .142 instead, see if that works

I audited this ROM on MAMEUI64, and it says Galaga 3 and its variants have Galaga (Namco rev. B) as the parent ROM, whose directory is "galaga". I searched for "gaplus" directory, and the correspondent machine is Gaplus (GP2 rev. B). If you really mean "gaplus" directory and thus Gaplus machine, it needs "namco62" directory or namco62.zip file, which you can find in your ROMset or in emulation websites that have the 0.180 revision ROMset hosted in separate files. I could post the link for this ROM, but I don't know if I'm allowed or not to post links for other emulation sites.

http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-...(rev._D)/13105 Is the Parent for Galaga 3

If that alone does not fix it then use a front end like iv/play Download Links:
Links are hidden from guests. Please register to be able to view these links. (you may need to rename the mame exe file to mame.exe)
Then run the front end and right click the game that is not working and hit the audit option to tell you what is wrong or missing from the rom/s you have

Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 & 2 - online quests in offline mode packs [COMPLETE]

Please can all ESR users post your results here to help with the project and others wanting to use ESR
