Default Mounting .cue .bin in Windows 10

Is there a program to use to mount .cue .bin files so I can play Sega Saturn, Turbo Grafx CD games?

I heard daemon tools lite now has adware and I've tried WinCDemu and it just says the files are corrupted. Tried many files downloaded from emuparadise it says they are all corrupted.

Apparently this is common in Windows 10 with .cue .bin files.

    Is there a solution?

possible solution. Did have issues back in 2014 not being able to mount cds with mulitple music tracks, but this may be fixed. I haven't got windows 10 to test this. Apologies.

Already tried that program as I stated in the opening post. It doesn't work either.

Uninstalling that program also leaves lots of junk behind on my PC.....

Sos I should have read a bit more. I'll do a spot more digging and get back to you

Just out of curiosity have you tried the built in mount feature that windows 10 has? Should be plenty of documentation about it.

    Better hassle free solution, Retroarch.

Just load the cue and away you go, no need to screw around with mounting shenanigans.

If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Yes, I have. The built in windows 10 feature only works for .iso though. Not .cue files.

Did you try the portable version of WinCDemu?

I have tried retroarch and it doesn't load PC Engine CD games. Whenever I select a .iso or .cue it just quits and crashes to desktop.

I tried just regular PC Engine games and it works fine. However, PC Engine CD games with .cue or .iso files don't work.

Sega Saturn .cue files do work though and they are emulated fine.

Yes, I have. It gives me an error message when trying to mount a .cue or .iso saying "The file type being saved or retrieved has been blocked".

Also, I tried to uninstall the driver it installed and it gave me an "Access Denied" error. And yes, I have ran it as an administrator.

Well I don't have a win10 machine to test with so I'm not going to be of any help. I think you need to figure out whatever win10 is doing to prevent you from using software properly, it's probably some sort of security (or maybe anti-piracy? ) crap that you can hopefully disable.

On Windows 7 some emulators don't work right if you put them in system locations like C:/Program Files/ or the a root directory like C:/ due to write protection. This leads to an error similar to "The file type being saved or retrieved has been blocked", notably with emulated disc games.

Try installing your emulator and mounting app to a more general location such as Documents or a new folder like C:/emu/

Daemon Tools Lite only has adware if you install it

During the install of Daemon Tools Lite you are asked if you want to install other software, you just say no

    Problem solved

It is still the best mounting software out there (can be installed as normal just remember to say no to installing whatever other software it asks you to install)

Yup it works fine with Windows 10 though I want to get rid of Windows 10 myself (Not that I think Win10 is super bad or anything but some of the older stuff I still want to use will never work in windows 10)

    Did you have the bios?

Load the core and go to information>core information and see if it says the bios is present if not here is the bios pack all ready to go,

Yea, I already tried this, from the desktop and from a new folder I made on C:/. Didn't work.

Yea, I heard that even if you uncheck that during install, it installs adware in the background which overrides your internet browsers with ads.

Yes, I forgot the BIOS. >.<

Thanks for that. Forgot that CD games require BIOS files.

Is there a way to scan directories with multiple folders with games in them? I tried to scan by selecting "scan this directory" but it says it found nothing. I have to manually select and open each folder with a game inside of it to add it to the library which is very tedious.

Also, I can't seem to add any pc engine or sega saturn games by scanning for them using the add content option. Sometimes when I select a pc engine cd game, it wrongly thinks it's a sega saturn game and tries to run it using the sega saturn core. I have to manually select the pc engine core and then browse through my directories to find and select the cd game each time I want to play.

Wondering if there is a better way to do this?

Neither of you are entirely wrong on this. There are more than one page in the installer with adware, and the second one is much sneakier about it. If you simply click through using the bottom buttons, you will end up with crap on your computer. IIRC the first one has a button on the bottom to skip, the second one has an option in the main window to change installation options. You would have to click that and uncheck the top box there to stop the unwanted installation.

Daemon Tools Lite is still the best, you simply have to be mindful when you install it.

Yes, I checked out the current daemon tools lite installer. There are no pages that I can see. The installer just opens up, downloads the "files" and then just has a single button prompting the install.

    I chose not to.

The one I downloaded is the current one linked from their site here:
