    Question PakkISO Problems

    I'm not sure if this belongs here however I'm having some issues with PakkISO (Tool recommended by EP on Sega CD games). As I am a Mac user I use Wine quite a bit when emulating, however when I tried out PakkISO, I couldn't find "Unpack ISO" when I right clicked and I couldn't drag my game folder onto the unpakkIso.exe file. So is there a PakkISO file with a GUI so I can use the program? Any help will be appreciated.

    What files are you trying to unpack?

    Do you have ecm or ape files?

    I'm trying to unpack Sonic CD (E).
    I have an ECM that I extracted and made into a .bin FILE and MANY ape files.

    Well ecm can be handled directly on your MAC, Ape files however I am not aware of a Mac port of the software for that

    http://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?57757 is worth looking at though for the PC tools needed to extract both file types

    In the same thread MasJ posted a Mac ported version of unecm

    Yeah I know, used the ECM tools last time
    What program do I need? Do I need Monkey's audio and WAV to BIN?

    Monkey's audio is probably all you need

    You only need to change wav to bin if the cue sheet uses bin files instead of wav files

    Thanks but I converted all my apes to WAVs, then into BINS after i checked the .cue and it is still not importing. Does it need to be in the .bin?

    Whats in the cue file?

    cue files are just text files, notepad can open that

    Textedit* I'm a mac user Also it's just Sonic CD (Europe) (Track Whateverthenumberis).bin and all that.

    Just make sure your files match what is inside that cue file and yeah I forgot you have been using a Mac so if they are all bin files then you files also need to all be bin files and have the same file names outlined in the cue

    P.S. what emulator are you using by the way

    emulators may support different file formats

    For example
    single Bin+Cue (CDDA tracks are stored inside that single Binary file, the Cue file indexes the tracks)
    Bin+Wav+Cue
    Bin+Wav (Naming method would be used as no cue is used)
    Bin+Mp3 (Naming method would be used as no cue is used)
    Iso+Mp3 (Naming method would be used as no cue is used)
    Iso+Wav (Naming method would be used as no cue is used)
    Iso+Wav+Cue

    I'm using OpenEmu.
    All the files match the .cue. I think my emulator uses Bin+Cue, how do I get the tracks in the .bin?

    Use whatever the mac uses to mount the cue then (Was Toast back in the day) then use whatever CD ripping software to create a nice new CD image from the Mounted drive (Might be toast as well) make sure the output file in Bin (Binary) that should make it so all the audio tracks are in the Binary file as well as the data track a cue file will also be created

    Not sure been years since I owned a Mac and that was on OS9
