my laptop hdd decided to die on me the other day so now I need to buy a new drive.
I pulled the drive out it's a wd scorpio blue sata. can I replace it with a sata 2 or 3 drive or do I need to replace it with another sata drive?

as far i know sata 2 and 3 are the same sata3 was created for expand sata speed (wire have other design)
if you not belive me search in web look on sata 2 and sata 3
important is:
your motherboard and bios support sata 3
i know there is also e-sata for use hdd from usb
and adapters like Hot-sale-SATA-300-SATA2-0-SATA-600-SATA-3-0-supported-mSATA-micro-SATA-to.jpg

good to know. I ended up buying a sata 1 drive that's basically the same as what I had just slightly newer. for the price I payed it was worth it compared to $40+ for sata 2 or 3 drives.
