It's not as much of an issue where I'm at. Outside cats will kill any that cross their path (various insects too, if they can get them) so I've only seen a couple in the last several months. Killing them if I encounter them is easier than trying to determine if it's a recluse.

We see spiders at work sometimes when we're sorting through donations.
The other week a huntsman jumped out of a box and ran towards another guy I work with. He claimed it was attacking him I just laughed and mocked him.
I mean it did run towards him but he backed away instead of stepping to one side, it was just running in a direction not actually going for him

If you kill every spider that comes into your house here you're going to have a bad time. As in dumping a shitload of fly spray everywhere constantly for at least half the year.
Cats kill mice and rats. Spiders kill all sorts of annoying insects, including mosquitoes that can be carrying something like Ross River virus. Certain spiders also prey on other species of spiders.

Flies are a huge problem here in summer.

Horrifying fact on where i live part 1) (1 OF FUCKING MANY!): Near me is a lab, a lab that was set up to test things on mosquitos and meningitis. Now, taking this into account and also taking into account of what i know about the ministy of defence/our country and how its done a poor fucking job on these things in the past (read up about the gas tests on sheep that drifted into a nearby town..or the plane full of biological weaponry from israel that "accidentally crashed" in a town in the midlands) and you'll see why i like spiders being around. Cover my house in them for all i care, I will then have a personal army AGAINST THAT! XD (again could be paranoia but ... ill keep my spiders just in case ).

Yeah well I'd rather have a bunch of harmless spiders around than have to deal with swarms of flies and mosquitoes. Also fly spray gives me sneezing fits.
The worst thing the spiders do is perv on you in the shower or whatever, sounds a bit creepy but it doesn't bother me personally

That's pretty evil man. I mean I'm not totally against killing things but there has to be a legitimate reason beyond "I don't like you, you can't live here and now you die!".
But maybe that's what being an American is all about
