Technically it is modded in the sense that it has a modchip, but the s-video is factory it isn't a video mod.

Maybe mine does have an S-video after all. I just never took note of it. I can't locate it right this minute...
Im thinking about play FF8 next but I can't decide if I want to play it on my Vita or PS3.

    Decisions decisions...

I'm not sure about US/EU launch consoles but I suspect s-video was removed from the board. Maybe even if it is you can mod it back in idk

Got a small lot of laptop crap the other day, 2x Compaq CQ40's, an Acer Aspire which seems to be dual core x86 and an Acer Aspire One.
Don't think I can be bothered building one working CQ40 from the parts but both Acers seem to be fully functional which is surprising...the Aspire One looks hardly used at all, no scratches or scuff marks anywhere. Put Lubuntu on it for the time being for some testing but I might investigate putting some sort of lite 32bit windows on it.

You should be able to get s-video or RGBS out of a PS1 without any modding.

I'm used to people not showing up at this point. Been like that with every job. Problem being we only have a staff of 10 people, including me. It's alright though, I LOVE this job.

S-video is probably all you need for those old systems anyway. Picture quality is pretty good.

It's a big step up from composite. It's not terribly expensive to move up to RGBS though, especially if you don't already have an s-video cord for the system.

Stop ingesting foul things. Not eating bugs would be a good start .

My trinitron is just 576/480i and I just assumed Jazz has something similar It has component too but that's pointless for consoles that old.

I'd love to, but damned if it isn't the whole working in a call center surrounded by people that don't call out sick when they are.

"Just" 576/480i? Mine will do 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i with the HD inputs.
but you're right, S-video should be acceptable in most cases. I just have to get around to adding them to a few consoles.

I'm not saying it's for everyone but, it's definitely not pointless.

I would prefer YPbPr for most of my stuff, but its just not possible in some cases. At least not "affordably" possible.

The converter I linked to is as cheap as it gets short of a great deal. As far as the PS1 goes, just play on a PS2 and use component ?
