Remember playing the first one once upon a time. Then FF7 came out and never finished it
Yeah, it's been well over ten years now since I played it, but I remember there being absolutely tons of optional stuff to do. I never really bothered with most of it either (I rarely do, even in games I really like), but my cousin sank a very substantial amount of time into all of it. Glad you enjoyed, anyway. :3 Thinking back to it is making me want to replay as well. ^^''
Haha, I played it well after FF7, or I fear the same thing might have happened. :'D It's a nice game, though, even if it wasn't as flashy as many of its contemporaries, and I like that it's one of the few JRPGs that puts in puzzles that are actually an interesting part of the game instead of just an afterthought. Felt like a spiritual successor to Lufia 2 on the SNES in that respect.
Actually, I kinda like the whole WA series. 2 is somewhat marred by one of the worst RPG localisations of its generation (seriously, some of it is barely even readable), and 4, XF, and 5 (particularly the former two) lean a wee bit too heavily on the generic anime tropes for my tastes, but they're all lots of fun just the same, and I thought it was a pretty consistent series all things considered. Would like to see it come back in some form.
