I think Hirokazu Koreeda might be the most talented director in modern Japanese cinema, and more or less all of his movies are gorgeous and intelligently written. But a number of them are extremely heavy going as well. :'D Not sure if I ever recommended Nobody Knows / Dare mo Shiranai (the one based on the Sugamo abandonment case, where a bunch of young kids were abandoned by their single mother and had to fend for themselves with predictably disastrous consequences) to you back in the day, but I think it's still one of the most heartbreaking movies I've ever seen from any country. It's one of my favourite Japanese movies, but I've only seen it twice over twelve years (with the second viewing being mandatory for a Japanese film class), and I'm not sure I'll ever watch it more than that. :'D

I think you recommended it to me or mentioned to it to me previously, it has that exact level of realism that I love. In nobody knows the mother before she leaves is extremely happy and chatty to her children and I think that portrayal of someone like that is perfect, most people I've found don't twirl a mustache like dick dastardly when they commit a horrible act they usually try to appear to be moral. At least from my cynical poverty.

I finished after the storm, the main character was well written.

Windows 10 Reportedly Adding a Game Mode That Would Improve Game Performance
Microsoft has not yet confirmed the feature's existence.A new feature may be on the way to Windows 10 that improves performance when playing PC games. That's according to a file discovered in a leaked version of a forthcoming preview update.

Twitter user WalkingCat reports the addition of a dll called "gamemode" in the latest build of Windows 10 (version 14997). A subsequent tweet notes it "looks like Windows will adjust its resource allocation logic (for CPU/[graphics] etc.)" for the purpose of prioritizing game performance.WindowsCentral lends further credence to this, indicating that its sources say it works similarly to how Xbox One runs a game. The feature will reportedly launch as part of the Creators update and will be enabled for Windows Insider users soon.

What's unclear is exactly which games this is compatible with. It's possible it could be limited to only to those downloaded from the Windows Store, or it might be much more far-reaching. We should know more once Windows Insiders testers get their hands on the feature.

The Creators update is slated for release sometime this spring. Microsoft has announced it includes some additions of interest to those playing games, including new streaming and tournament features.
