Default Beating games in one sitting

Tried to beat the "BS Zelda" (the original NES Zelda with SNES graphics) in one sitting, ended up doing it in 2 sittings a few hours each time.

Tried to beat Final Fantasy 3 (6 USA) as a teenager and basically just passed out when the Leo stuff happens.

Anyone else try to beat games in 1 or 2 sittings?

Terminator Salvation on PS3, I think I might've had a break or two but got all trophies within 5 hours or so.
Fallout NV PS3 did a survivor speedrun within a couple of hours, technically not completing a game 100% (all trophies) but it was from start of a new game until the end of the main questline ignoring everything else.

Maybe there are some other games that I could've done in one sitting but didn't bother...like The Order 1886

    if it's possible.
a lot of modern to ten year old games literally are 48hr gameplay upwards, and probably would need at least a half-wayer for that...
    well, i would anyway.
older games, 32 bit and prior is more like it, still solid.
silkworm on the amiga (the tecmo original cops relz is bs, tube will back that!) is fun to do in a sitting, along with S.W.I.V. and project x.
i could go on for a while, you get the idea though.

With modern games it just depends what you consider "beating" a game is. A lot of rpgs take way more than 48 hours to complete fully even if you're only going for achievements/trophies and not bothering about unnecessary side quests/exploring, hoarding equipment etc. Even western stuff like TES/Fallout series on easy difficulty takes a while to complete.
And then you have the likes of Souls games that can really take time if you don't have decent skills...endless dying and grinding

Me and a buddy pretty much went through Metroid Prime back when. Passed the controller back and forth and went all night. Got all the scans too I think. We smoked tons of weed. Called the guy half a dozen times to pick up over our gaming stretch

We saved right before the last boss I believe and called it quits. Close enough.

Went through Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner in 9 hours around five years ago.
Will never forget fighting the final boss while chanting "R2-Square, R2-Square", because I was so obsessed with timing the attacks properly and one slip could mean death.
Promptly lost consciousness shortly after the credits started rolling. This was the only time I've ever passed out while playing a game... was worth it, though.

I did the first Fire Emblem game officially released in the US (Rekka no Ken/7/just plain ol' Fire Emblem on the box) in 25 hours straight with just enough time taken out to go to the bathroom and get a drink. I don't know if you would consider that one sitting since I got up, but I did it in one session... which some people would consider a single sitting.

RPG's are probably the hardest, with modern ones you can usally cut out side quests etc, and just purely speed run them.

Forgot I beat Tetris Attack on SNES in one sitting a few times

It's not something I've ever "tried" to do,but sometimes you just get caught up.

Not counting one-off styled games designed specifically for replay,I can say confidentially that I've done it for both RE4 and MGS3 as well as Revengeance. I've definitely done it for Undertale and Huniepop, but those are super short so they hardly count.. It would be simple to do for Chantelise,my first 100% run only took 11 hours. Deus Ex probably wouldn't be too hard either, that's an easy game to get absorbed in.

I've beaten Threads of Fate in one sitting before. Or a least one "side" of the game.
It took me 2 sittings for both sides, but all in all, I still beat the game (side quests included) in one day.

Putting aside older action games with no save functionality that you pretty much had to do in one sitting, there have been a few. My younger brother and I finished Soul Reaver 2 in one sitting due to not having a PS2 memory card at the time, and needing to return the game to the rental store the next day. Not sure entirely why we rented it in hindsight, given that we must have known we would either be leaving it unfinished or doing it in one sitting. :'D But it made for one of our more enduring memories of our time playing games together as kids. Luckily it's one of those games where it's very difficult to out and out die (I think you can maybe get a game over if you're killed in the spectral realm? Beyond that, though...), so we were never really forced to reload from a nonexistent memory card.

I also finished the first Portal in one evening after it was released for free with the launch of Steam on MacOS. Not exactly a huge achievement given that it's pretty short by modern standards and not majorly difficult, but still~ Oh, and I played nearly all of the main story of Final Fantasy VII in one day (I think it was from the second reactor you visit to the battle with Hojo). But that was a game that I had already played a ton of times and knew inside out, and I never would have come close to clearing it that fast on my first time through. Ditto to the first Diablo, which I know my brothers and I cleared in one sitting with new characters on multiple occasions after we knew the game well.

As for games I've done in a couple of sittings, there have been absolutely loads. I suffered very badly with depression and insomnia during my teens, and it's not a good combination, as sleep deprivation and generally feeling terrible physically tends to feed negative thoughts. So huge gaming sessions were a good way of keeping my mind off things when I couldn't sleep. I think the ones that most stick in my mind are Suikoden 2, which I finished most of the story of in one day, and Final Fantasy IX, which I played through all of in the first two and a half days following its release here. But there were lots more, particularly non-RPGs / shorter RPGs. I think for a while, it was actually kind of the norm for me to play games like that. Glad I don't do it anymore, though. Time investment aside, it caused everything to kind of blur together, and diminished the impact of separate areas / moments in a game for me. Realised replaying FFIX recently just how little I remembered because of how quickly I had played it the first time around.
