Error (dealing with 7zip files)

Hi guys,

Tried to download an emulator but this error came up whenever im trying to run it. Help please? Thanks in advance!

yes, i see the problem clearly.
you're trying to run an archive (.7z) as a program.
as the archive ISN'T an sfx (self-extractor executable) that's the message received.
expand the 7zip archive to it's conclusion, and try again.
there should be disk images within the archive.

Hmm. Im still pretty lost on this.

After i downloaded the files and have extracted them, what do i do?

okay, the window above is expecting a psx executable, one that's on all psx cd game dumps.
1, if using a virtual drive (daemontools) mount the psx image so it's visible as a volume in 'my computer' or thereabouts.
2, when image is mounted, explore it, there should be a list of contents.
look for the exe and/or sys_cfg files, they can work as exes in this instance.
...
alternatively, see if the emulator can take the image direct, target emu toward the disk image itself, should be a bin or an img. (possibly iso?)
there's emu buffs on here.
i don't go near em, original hardware only guy.

1. Download and install 7-zip from http://7-zip.org/download.html
2. Extract Saiyuki - Journey West (USA).7z with 7-zip
3. Run ePSXe
4. In ePSXe click File then Run ISO
5. Select the Saiyuki - Journey West (USA).cue file

Do not use Run PS-EXE

The Saiyuki - Journey West (USA).bin file although you are not opening the file directly is still being used so do not delete that, the cue file is used to inform the software reading it what tracks are inside the bin file

Avoid opening the bin file directly as doing so will disable and CDDA tracks if said game has any (CDDA is music tracks normally though can be used for other sounds), as it happens this game only has a data track

Thanks! managed to extract it. However, my emulator cant seem to open ISO. Will come up with this error

Just make sure your plugins are setup correctly and you actually have some plugins for Video/GPU

Check the plugin paths from ePSXe and make sure that there are actually plugins in the folder setup in ePSXe then make sure the Video plugin is selected in ePSXe

It's an internal error for GPU/Video plugins not an error loading the iso
