Default Newb looking for help with (psx) languages

I'm new to retro gaming and was wondering do all psx 'A' titles contain French or do I have to resort to 'E' (PAL) versions in order to get that language? If the answer is no, is there a way I can find out before downloading them? The reason I ask is because gaming titles sold in Canada all come with English/French languages and thy're not European versions.

    thanx

You can look them up on something like redump or psxdatacenter. You will be able to see some extra info like game ID, languages, CRC/MD5/SHA etc for comparison. Even copy protection.

But in your case such info would only be useful if it is provided before downloading. Some forum shares will have extra info, but I'm not sure about main site shares.

Let us use Metal Gear Solid PSX as an example...

    EU version:
    http://redump.org/disc/597/
    ID: SLES-01370 Language: English

    US version:
    http://redump.org/disc/102/
    ID: SLUS-00594 Language: English

    French PAL version:
    http://redump.org/disc/15708/
    ID: SLES-01506 Language: French

    Much appreciated,

Your post lead me to the PlayStation DataCenter where they list NTSC/PAL titles by SLES along with language information.

Yes psxdatacenter has lots of useful info, including emulation related stuff.
I only used redump in my examples as it has excellent info for good dumps of games, and not just PSX.
