Default Final Fantasy IX Emulation Not Loading

I recently downloaded the PSX Final Fantasy IX emulator, and I can't get it to work. It starts to show the opening title sequence - saying 'Square Enix' or 'Sony Entertainment' or something like that (I can't remember exactly which), but then it just goes to a black screen, with a big green glitchy rectangle down one side, and a pink glitchy rectangle along the bottom (IIRC). And it freezes on that. I've tried many times; I've tried redownloading it; and I've tried changing the video configurations. But all to no avail. What might be the problem?

If you are trying one of the PAL versions they have Libcrypt protection in them

You can either play the USA release or just use an SBI for the PAL versions

P.S. sorry I missed your post
