Default Need help with gba emulator on psp

Hi everyone, new poster here, new to emulators, basically just a noob in general.

Anyway, straight to the point, I've recently downloaded the gpsp kai emulator for my psp 2000, and the system reads the emulator fine. No problems there. The issue arises when I try to play the gba roms I've downloaded. I placed the roms in the rom folder following this thread PSP > GAME > gpSP kai > ROM. It's in the ROM folder that I'm placing the gba roms, but the emulator doesn't even detect them when I load it up.

I've tried a few different things watching tutorial videos, but nothing seems to let the emulator see the gba roms. Am I missing something obvious here? I'm sure it's something obvious that I'm missing, but any help steering me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the BIOS? Does it require them to be unzipped?

you do require gba_bios.bin (yes it should be extracted must be in the same folder as the eboot)

Thanks for the responses, I did download the BIOS and it is in the right folder. But the emulator still doesn't detect the games. Is there a specific folder that the EBOOT needs to be moved to, with the BIOS, currently it's in the gpSP kai folder.

Full path is: PSP > GAME > gPSP kai (where the eboot and bios are)

that is correct..., though you may want to remove the space from the folder name

Thanks, I'll try that and see if it changes anything.

I removed the spaces in the folder name and then went to see if that changed anything, the emulator said it was corrupted and wouldn't start up. Went back in, restored the spaces and everything went back to being fine. But the emulator still doesn't seem to want to detect any roms.

Now that is really very strange, changing the folder names should make no difference at all

    PSP/GAME/randomname/eboot.pbp

    What firmware are you using???

Roms should be in either .zip format or for 32MB roms be extracted to .gba format roms bigger than that are not supported unless the hacks added that I would not know

rar or 7z formats are not supported as far as I know
