well...see if the parts are worth to keep. perhaps you can provide more info on the specs?

and i didn't really get about the hard drive thing.
to use it as primary drive, you would just set it to primary master. sorry it's probably me who misunderstood your question.

if the hardware are not worth for upgrade, i'd use it for a server or something, or experiment box (such as experimenting different os' )

You can always check your computer hardware specs under your OS. What OS is the computer using?

    Default Use your box.

USE IT AS A UNIX/LINUX BOX!!!!

I'm turning my PII into a dedicated LINUX Router/firewall/server.

Graphics, and 3D polygons don't make great games, story-lines do!!

A thumb up from me! keep up the good work.

PS: If you decide to venture into the Linux world, mandrake WOULD be good for you because it is geared towards being more of a desktop OS than other Linux packages, however, many people have claimed (including me) that it won't let them install anything at all. Which sucks. I've been wanting to try out SuSe and I've gotten some pretty good comments about it. The best Linux according to many people, is gentoo, but it's too damn hard for me to setup so I couldn't give my opinion on it.
IMHO, i never tried mandrake, but i heard mandrake 9.1 was quite impressive. i like suse, and suse 8.2 pro should be great.
easy to install, and not too hard to maintain.
the best linux? nah...i don't think gentoo is the best, but it's great.
if anyone is installing gentoo, i'd suggest u print out the doc from gentoo site, read them before hand, and finally just follow out during the installation. it's really easy once you stripped out the pieces you ONLY need to read about from the docs.
for people who like stability (like i mean EXTREME stability ), you might like debian . and this is the newer installation method which should be much easier.

    good luck on your choices

i'm not sure about the more strict compiler in 8.2 version.
but supposedly those packages in the cd are very reliable in terms of the installation, and should be able to comply with most systems.
yea you could always use the 8.1 though (that was the last version i used), and the installation was never smoother than that.
even the 8.0 was okay too.

worse the worst, use debian. i know Ace uses it
