were using all the parts, seeing as how that 12 mhz (OC'ed from 4...w00t!) cpu can pump out an extra 500 dhrystones. We treat it kind of as a joke, but still, that extra bit of power can mean the difference between having an official report of 14.99999 megaflops and 15.

Though I bet if you tell anyone who's life is AMD that you have a Quad Athlon setup they'd be crosseyed heh

still have rank of:
certified Pentium benchmark killer
3.2 scaling would be incredable for a quad setup espically on Athlons..
We just had the machine inspected, and I'll be adding a link to the text file with the results on the core machine with a few components on to my sig when I can find it. Now I have rank of
certified Pentium benchmark killer
seeing as how the scaling (from the core machine) is 17.8 or so.

yes! I knight thee from the president of AMD to be certified to fight Intel cpus in the war of benchmarking, together, Sprung, we will rule the world with the power of AMD cpus !!! (*cough*Cough* what i mean, is that we will have an unfair advantage aganist most Intel setups, so nothing should be counted, and we shouldn't brag )

a mad overclocker just out benched me in dhryston/whetstone, he ocd his dual xeons to 3.82ghz, really I was slaughtered(he used promeria cooling) I think the guy had something like 16% higher numbers, it was pretty awsome, He couldnt maintain it for very long, not 100% stable he said, forget the link to his pics of his scores.

I am seriously thinking of doing a CPU upgrade soon, although I can only go to 2.4 on this MOBO...

I appreciate your knighting me, but have I been asimilated into a fight FOR amd chips?

BTW I have no chip preference, as long as it does what I want it to do....quickly.

I have an Intel based PC, I fight for both Intel and AMD when I post my bench scores. You decide If you want to represent which company when. It dosent really matter, so long as your not 50% intel 50% AMD... 49% Intel 51% AMD is good even. HEH Im a real AMD nerd
But I have to give Intel some credit, I DO have Intel chips in my Motherboard U know (*my integrated Lan chip is an Intel chip, heh)

That's fake, sure about it. Especially seeing how he listed his "modem" on there. Wonder if he knows that I'm able to check up his ISP and actually check the real speed . Heh don't even have to check seeing how the ISP is in the same country as me, and has crappy speeds. Also notice all those's nice 's. Probally copied and pasted of that acticle which was posted earlier.

my question...does that monster come with the drives RAID'ed or what....i could actually go out, get 8 400gb drives, and put them on my two RAID0 chains for *two* 1.6 tb drives in windows that function four times as fast as they normally would as a single 400gb drive. So a 4x250 chain really isnt all that special. only problem is 8 400gb drives would cost...approx. $1600.

they're RAIDED, aern't they SATA too? 400GB hardisks, they dont have those yet, do they? noo.
you'd need at least a PCI-X 133mhz card that would support Dual channel RAID 0 configurations to even touch that kinda data transfer, that alone is somewhere between $300-$500 you'd also need a huge server case, to use 8 Hard disks, so thats another $200, and thats a lot of heat too for 7200RPM (more likely 5400RPM drives though) so.. $20 for fans. total value; more than $2200

i think ive seen em...i know i saw 300's at CompUSA about a week ago. I was surfing, maybe it was something else...300's are hellla expensive, they wont do any of that rebate crap to bring down the price...heres the link to the 300, if you want to see that.
300gb 5400rpm hdd...sweet
I think for Project G im going to put one or two of those in the central core. we've got a really extensive array of drives already...totalling 700-something gigs out of spare parts. We're hoping to have a total of a terrabyte or two in drives later on. I think I've seen those RAID cards go fro a bit less...let me check....yeah, here it is. Just get two of those (what I have) and the eight drives.yeah...a hdd coller would probably be smart in that case eh? I should probably do some cutting in my case then, and add some fans. Even at 5400 rpm, thats gonna be a bit of heat. Also, it depends on how they're RAID'ed how it distributes space...it could be RAID0+1, which would bring it to 500gb realised space. In that config, the other two drives would be used for mirroring.
