Whoot! I have enough RAM (1.5GB) now that I turned off "Virtual memory." He he, good stuff that, running all programs in RAM so they are all constantly "On tap" if you know what I'm sayin'
hmm i dont think its always double because when i had 256 in my other comp my swap was 384

The swap file is normally 1.5 times the amount of RAM. But I have 512 RAM and 1.5 GB virtual memory :eyeball: so that makes 2 GB of memory. Get Cacheman XP
    Have you seen me before?

Wow, a lot of activity in here...

Well, after careful consideration and research, I have come up with the computer I will be ordering shortly. The total will come to around $370, and that includes shipping. I thought I would be getting a better deal by ordering from multiple places found on Pricegrabber and such, but after a last minute check on resellerratings.com, I found that the two places I was gonna purchase the stuff from had extremely low ratings. That site saved my ass. So here I am, ordering everything off of Newegg.com. My setup will include:

Gigabyte K8NS Motherboard for Athlon 64 processors
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1 GB Corsair Value RAM pc3200
Raidmax ATX 822WBP Case with 420W PS

That is all the stuff I am gonna buy, on top of the stuff I already have:

    60 GB HDD
    External 160 GB HDD
    DVD\CD-RW Drive
32x CD-ROM Drive (salvaged from computer show)
    Floppy Drive
USB 2.0 PCI Card (4 extra ports)
    GeForce FX 5200 PCI
    Windows XP Pro
    That's all...
Wish me luck on the purchase. Newegg.com, don't fail me now!!! BTW, thanks to eveyone who helped me throw this beast (okay not really) together.

Yeah, UltimateX, I tried Mwave earlier today, and a few of their products are still higher priced, and they had a bit of a lower rating on the site I mentioned above. I'll probably end up buying the system tomorrow if I don't get paranoid in spending so much money....

EDIT: I am looking at Mwave.com right now and so far, not too much of a difference compared to Newegg.com. Although they do not carry Raidmax cases, and I have yet to find out if they tack on $15 for shipping of a case.

One More EDIT: Anyone have any ideas or anything about Ahanix Cases? The one I see on Mwave is really nice, and only $20 w/o PS! That'll save me $10!

Hate to say it, but I changed my mind again. Here is what I hope to be the final changes to my purchase. This is all on top of what I have listed above under what I already have.
