that makes me wish i had a desktop and not a laptop. It costs me an arm and a leg to buy a new laptop harddrive, and I have to lose my old hard drive to use the new one

Well... why not go external... not too much more to lug around, and storage can go as high as you want... USB 2.0 works wonders... then again... how old is your lappy?
