Can't say I'm a huge olympics fan, but it's pretty cool nontheless. Hopefully it'll finally satisfy the UK organisations who campaign for this every time the bid rolls around. That said, I can't believe we beat France's bid by four votes. Discuss.

Yes I was pretty suprised when I heard this, I'm still amazed at us beating France. NY was ahead of us too but they couldn't get planning permission to build the olympic stadium
