Xbox original no signal after game load

As the title says I get a black screen saying no signal after I put in a burned pal copy of crash wrath of cortex on my softmoded original Xbox NTSC all my other pal and NTSC burned games work fine but this one just cuts the screen off any ideas?

Force pal in unleashed x settings
Force pal on TV set

I've had similar problems running the odd NTSC game on a PAL system. I used Enigmah Video Mode Switcher for the problematic games.

Thank you, this worked for Crash, however now I have another game that wont work, just a black screen this time its not changing to no signal the game is Spyro a heroes tail. I've tried all modes still black screen.

Is it another PAL game?

Try clearing the cache, I've had that work when I couldn't get games like Conkers to work.

No dice, sigh it didn't work from hdd either I'll assume bad rip? I got it from here though and the comments didn't mention it.

Black screens can be caused by

Video mode (covered) though you may need to change it back again
Cache (covered)
HDD installed game compat (Not related)
Too many games ran on a single Xbox system causing the local storage to hit it's max (this is not a space issue but a folder/file count limit) this will stop any new game or other software to the system to go to a black screen and stay there on boot

It could also be an issue with unleashed x itself, I can't be sure about that as I personally dropped that in favor of XBMC that has a few extra game fixes and plenty of nice little video mode options on a per game basis (not sure if Unleash used the video mode per game setup or not) Enigmah Video Mode Switcher is still recommended anyway though but I use a PAL xbox that I patched to NTSC and kept it that way but most of the games I have are NTSC even though the machine is PAL a few games I have had to set in PAL modes but those worked via the dashs mod without reverting to PAL display

Have you deleted all the cache files?

Delete your cache files. The following directories can be emptied (delete all the files inside, not the directories themselves).

E:\CACHE
X:\
Y:\
Z:\

If that doesn't work, maybe Zorlon will see this thread and have some ideas. He is much more knowledgable than me on this subject.

I cleared the cache files and made sure every drive was empty besides the default folders in them, maybe he'll have another idea. I'll just set the game aside for now thank you guys.

Yes, I've tried both pal and ntsc settings and also tried them all in unleashed x.

Hmm it may be a bad image/copy after all let me just check my notes and see if I ever needed to fix that game for anything

P.S. are you using component cables or anything? i.e. using 480P modes

Sorry read that wrong, no I'm using stock rca cables

I had no notes on issues with the game anyway it should just work (my tests are all HDD tests so no CD/DVD tests done at the time)

on standard rca there would of been no video issues anyway even on a 1.6 xbox maybe if you had still been in PAL video mode or forced PAL/PAL60 mode but not with Enigma setting your machine back to NTSC mode running it in normal video mode/NTSC mode

Also, I've tried playing from hdd I get the same black screen, Reading the comments from http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...l-%28NTSC-U%29 I can't tell if anyone else got it working or not (I know some didn't even know how to extract the files)

Hmm my copy is actually smaller in size 872.6 MB in qwix

EDIT I'm extracting it via Qwix then I will make a sfv file you can use to scan your copy, just let me know what shows as different then you can try the odd file from my copy and see if that fixes anything for you

P.S. with it being a Mix means it should support both PAL and NTSC modes

Note the sfv attached is from a scene release that may have something ripped out of it
