not sure how to keep track of em, just innit for the gameplay and items that add to it.

if i recall, the georgeforeman3/3hunkofshity stores it's trophy/achievement data outside the usual save/cfg locations.
which is numb as fuck.

in fact, it's creepy, the user has no real way to destroy that aspect of bookkeeping outside a system restore.
nuking it by hand (using a filehandler) is also a bit tricky, as some of them are hardcoded to the gamesave presence, and can cause certain errors.
a full trophy data blast works, but that means saves that are tied to them are also nuked...

I'd like to play more modern pc games like fallout 3 gta 4 ect and emulation. I'll probably dump a new hdd in this old fart and use it for work/backup.

I'd consider pushing the budget to $800-$900ish. You'll have a lot more flexibility there and you won't be tempted to cheap out on the PSU (a huge mistake) .

There's also no reason not to wait around and see how Zen performs before deciding on anything.

It's worthwhile in the end. If Zen meets its launch date and performs around Ivy/Haswell clock per clock it'll be quite good. Especially considering that Intel still has 8C CPUs locked away in the enthusiast segment with nutty prices.
