Help with ps2 modchips

Hi Everyone.

I am trying to research how to Modchip my old PS2 Slimline.

My aim is to be able to download old ps1 and ps2 games to blank cds or dvds (which ever is needed I haven't found that out yet) and play them on my ps2.

I know very little about it or what I need thats the purpose of my post.

I don't want to have to do disc swapping magic disc etc, I've seen a little about free mcboot memory cards but it's unclear if that will work for me?? Some sites say only a mod chip will let me run copied ps1 games.

Anybody who can help please let me know where to start and what i need.

I'm trying to find where I can get the mod chip and what i'd need etc

You'll need to buy the modchip from somewhere and need to have soldering skills to do that
