    Default epsxe stops working as soon as I try to run an ISO

    Essentially what happens is whenever I open up epsxe, click file, run ISO and then run a game, it cuts to a black screen for one to two seconds, then immediately says that epsxe has stopped working, then closes the program. This is the first time I have ever installed a emulator, so I have no idea how to fix this issue. The two things I have tried are 1. Re-installing the emulator, and 2. Using a different ISO. Neither of which made any difference

    Run as Administrator. That should either fix it or get you a new error message that you are missing a .dll file.

    If you are missing the .dll file, look it up online and download. Run all available virus/malware scans on the file, then extract if it's clean and place it in the folder with ePSXe.exe

    If this is your first time running a emulator you are most likely missing dependencies or something.

    Do you have the directx redist installed?

    visual c++ runtimes installed?

    its a case of trial and error .

    I tried that and the same thing happened, without telling me whether there was a dll file missing or not. It just kept saying that it wasn't working

    Is there any unnecessary settings on in your video cards driver settings?

    I suggest you get DependencyWalker and it will tell you if you are missing anything to run epsxe or anything else for that matter.

    There is a much easier alternative to epsxe but I'm currently a little swamped to teach you the lowdown, the alternative is RetroArch and its truly awesome.

    If its the most obvious thing I'm going to be annoyed with myself.

    Normally one would go through the setup wizard so I thought the bios would of been a non issue.

    Yeah, I have the bios file, but even that causes it to crash somehow

    Do you mean that you tried to Run BIOS and it crashed instead of taking you to the PS memory card/cd audio page?
