Default What's the best cheap game you've bought?

I'm sure most people have bought a cheap game and ended up liking it a lot more than expected, so yeah.
What's your favorite game you got for a cheap price?

For me, it's an indie game called Zigfrak, which I got for five dollars. Best five dollars I ever spent.

Do you mean cheap as in an Indie or budget title or a bargin bin title? Not to mention free from pirating

I say this because I routinely pick up big name games from a few years back for a last gen system for around five to ten bucks. The best five dollar title I grabbed a couple months back (that I have never played before) would have been RE6 for the 360

As for a budget title I think the last "cheap" game I grabbed was X-files for PS2. 20 bucks brand new ages ago but had fun with it!!

I've got quite a few decent games cheap over the years so I won't mention all of them mainly because I got them on sale well after release, but Singularity was a game I was expecting to be pretty rubbish and it was quite ok.
The Saboteur for 360 was one that wasn't really expensive, I had heard it was ok but wasn't completely sure about it and I had loads of fun...so much so that I bought it again for PS3 later on. I initially expected this game to not be as good as Velvet Assassin but it's far better imo.

I can think of a few budget titles that were well worth the money.

    Physical

Evil Zone on PSX - $10

    Darkstone $10 or $20, can't quite remember.

    Shogo/Septerra Core dual jewel pack - $10

Jedi Academy (Jewel Case) - $10

Mazes of Fate - under $20
    Digital DRM FREE

    Valdis Story - under $5

    Shadowgate - under $2

    The Witcher 1 & 2 - usual on-sale price

    Deus Ex 1 & 2 - usual on-sale price

THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

I don't know about best but, Sacrifice, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, and Freespace for $.50 each was a spectacular purchase. Freespace I knew to be a good game that I had never gotten around to while Sacrifice and Giants were a surprise helping of excellence.

On the opposite end of the spectrum I suspect I'm going to be disappointed with Septerra Core even having paid $1.20.

I'd have to say Gungrave OD was the best budget game I ever bought. Ended up costing me more than a normal game, though, with all the controller smashing trying to get through hard mode with the rockabilly ghost guy caused me to do.

Septerra Core may surprise you. If you can make it to get accustomed to the odd as hell combat system; it's got (for the most part) decent voice acting, a unique story, some really interesting characters and a fair amount of side quests going for it.

Far Cry The Wild Expedition is a pretty good deal. You get Classic, 2, 3 & Blood Dragon for the price of one game.
Despite Being DLC (it's standalone btw) Blood Dragon is an excellent game, I was very impressed.
