Default epsxe with PS3 controller on windows 10

I followed this guide http://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?77890 but it doesn't work at all for me. I am on windows 10 and I am able to use my PS3 controller for steam games, but not on epsxe. Can someone help? I did everything that it said in the thread I linked, but to no avail. For steam I am using SCP and that works there, but EPSCE can not event detect a controller.

Are you using Xbox 360 controller drivers?

Search for XPadder, install, map keyboard keys to controller, configure emulator to use keyboard keys. As long as XPadder detects your controller input it will work with nearly anything.

Xpadder is not recommended, if you must use keyboard/mouse to controller software AntiMicro is far better and 100% FREE .
    https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro

Are you using the original SCP?

There is a fork that is still under active development unlike the original - https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit , that may work for you on win 10.

Okay, I am considering just deleting the emulator now. I don't want to keep downloading a bunch of programs and drivers or whatever, then just find out they don't work and have it take up space. I'm not tech savvy. I just want it to work. I installed SCP. You ask if it is the recent one and I say I don't know. I installed the xbox360 controller drivers (cause you are supposed to do that for SCP) and the scp thing. I plug in my PS3 controller and it works fine for steam games. epsxe does not detect it existing at all. I regret the libusb and driver thing and wish I knew how to find everything it installed so I could remove it because it didn't do anything. Everyone in this thread is telling me to download something different with no proof that it will work on my win 10 pc. I don't want to risk stuff that just takes up space and wont work. I need a guaranteed tested and working solution, presented step by step on how to make it work on Windows 10.

Sorry everyone got you confused, I suggest uninstalling your current SCP and update to the latest release here - https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit

I assume that should fix any issues but since I don't have win 10 I can't give you a solid answer.

How do I check which version of SCP I even have? For all I know, I have that release. I downloaded it last week.

I feel physically sick now from getting frustrated. After that whole Libusb thing, and uninstalling it, my controller no longer is detected in steam games either. I uninstalled SCP and now I just don't know what to do.

Just calm down, Computers are a learning experience and it is just never delivered to you on a silver platter.

Sorry I was away busy with a few things, il help you to the best of my ability.

Where was it that you downloaded SCP on your own?

    Was it here - http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInpu...DS2-Controller ?

That is the original that is no longer maintained by the original Author.

If your controller still fails to be read in epsxe with the newer SCP in the github link il help you set up the better alternative RetroArch but just remember all of this is a learning experience and you can't let it get to you.

Yes Warrior, that is the one I had. I am also using epsxe 1.9.25. I totally uninstalled SCP but I still have the xbox360 controller drivers installed. So step by step, because I am frazzled here, what do I do? I don't want to mess this up. I want my controller tow work with my steam games and epsxe.

    https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit

Go there and go to Releases and grab ScpToolkit v1.7.277.16103-BETA , the installer says ScpToolkit_Setup.exe

Follow the instructions on the front page of that link, here is a copy pasta,

    Installation How-To

Connect your Dongle (only needed if you want to use it wirelessly) and controllers (yes, all of them) via USB and let Windows install its default drivers. Leave them plugged in during the entire installation process!
Download the latest release of the ScpToolkit Setup to an arbitrary location on your PC.
Run the Setup and follow it's instructions. Should be fairly straight-forward.
Wait for the Setup to finish.
If you're performing a fresh installation, run the Driver Installer afterwards.
If you're upgrading from an older installation you may skip the Driver Installer.
When running the Driver Installer, choose your Bluetooth and controller devices you like to use with ScpToolkit.
The next step depends on your operating system:
Vista: check the Force Install option.
Win 7/8/8.1/10: leave it unchecked (or check if you're facing installation troubles, might help).
    Click Install.
    You're done!

I believe that will get you up and working with your desired results, if not and you don't wanna mess with obnoxious epsxe il help you set up RetroArch via visitor message or something.

This gonna sound dumb but I don't see anything called "releases." Edit: Derp ignore that. Okay after a bunch of C++ stuff it asked me to install, I have to restart. I will try to keep you posted.
