Default Project64 Controller setup only recognises one joystick?

So I'm trying to set up my controller for Project64 so I can play some of my old favorites, and I thought maybe I could connect my right joystick to the C-buttons. Well, I connected my left joystick to the actual joystick, and when I went to connect the right stick to the C-buttons, it said it was already in use. I looked at some other peoples' settings for the N64 mapping, and they couuld use each joystick fine, so what's my problem? When I enter my joystick it just says "Joy Left", "Joy Up", etc instead of "X Axis -" and "Y Axis +" etc.

Can anyone help? I'd really love to play Zelda and DK and stuff but I'm not sure how to efficiently map my controller without the right joystick!

    Windows 10 laptop 64-bit
    Rock Candy Xbox One controller
    Project 64 version 1.6
I've used a PSX and PS2 emulator no problem

Analog Stick is your left stick
C Buttons would be you right stick
    Digital would be your D-Pad
    A B would be reversed B A
    X Y would be reversed Y X
    L R would be L1 R1
    Z would be R 2

I KNOW what I want my button set-up to be. That is NOT the problem.
The problem is that it won't LET me set my right stick to anything, as it says it's already set to something when it's NOT.
I don't know how to make that more clear than I already have?
I set the Analog Stick to my left joystick. No problem. I then go to set my right joystick to the c buttons and it basically goes 'Nope you can't do that because you already set this to something else'

Joy to keys (Joy2Keys) or something similar would do the trick

Hmmm the JoytoKey I see is a free trial and then I have to buy it? Is there a free one by any chance? I mean, I can buy it, but I'm on a tight budget so I'm just wondering ^^U
    Thank you though! <3

Joy2Keys is totally free, licence is optional and does not add any features or even support

You can use Joy2Keys as little or as much as you like, without a licence.

So it's up to you if you want want to support the devs or not

I have much better alternative for you - https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro

Its a million times better than that closed source payware Joy2Key and the like, one of my top programs.

BTW that is a strange issue not being able to map a button to your right stick.

I suggest you bring it to the devs attention via the github page and the PJ64 forums as the devs never come here.

Does anybody know if the right stick issue is due to a certain plugin? Maybe recommend another plugin that will work better, if you know about P64 as well.
