Default GBA games on DSI XL

DSi did not come with a gba card slot, same for the dsi xl. I have DSi XL and play on a r4 card nds roms. Is there a way I could play gba roms on the dsi? Because it can't run them normally. Pls reply

If I remember correctly GBA games won't work on DS without some sort of extra hardware. By that I mean you need a special cart, normal R4 or whatever DS carts won't do the job.
I have a DS Lite and R4 Revolution but I seem to recall there wasn't any way I would be able to run GBA roms. I do have NES games on that though.

You can use a GBA emulator on PSP console if you have one though (which is what I did, along with Mega Drive, PC-Engine and even SNES), and PSP doesn't need any extra hardware (just use CFW which is an easy mod)...better if you use any model besides the first one (1000) because that doesn't have the extra ram of later models.

Emulation either via a Supercard DSTWO (this has extra hardware to help emulate) or via gbaemu4ds that as the name hints is a GBA emulator for the DS but this one works with most regular flash kits that don't have the extra hardware chips of the DSTWO flash kit

I have no personal exp with gbaemu4ds though

Hmmm I don't remember gbaemu4ds. Had a look on gbatemp and from what I understand plenty of games won't work, and even some that do might crash anyway. It seems like there isn't any development for it now...people have moved onto 3DS related stuff.

Still, might be worth a go if no other alternatives are available.

    Edit:
