According to TES Lore, The Black Marsh was ravished my a mass disease. Argonia, also known as the Black Marsh is where the Argonians hail. Everyone know that they are immune to disease. In any case, there were several other known Races wiped out from the Black Marsh including but not limited to the Vulpine Lilmothiit.

I hear that Argonia will be the setting of TES6, and I can only hope that the Lilmothiit are reintroduced into the continent. They have only been referenced outside of the main quests; books, etc., but have never been seen. It is assumed they are extinct. If this were the case, I might have to break my streak of Argonian characters.
