my download speed isn't whats shown most of the time I don't get better than 1mb ul speed varies a little at best its 80kbps.

Are you at least getting around the advertised speeds for your plan?

My ISP offers up to 200mb possibly 250mb, not sure, but that speed test from Singapore in 2011 shows how far behind we are.

US ISPs are probably the worst about it. They're accustomed to grinding maximum profit and they don't want to expand or upgrade the infrastructure until they absolutely have to.

probably not but I don't pay the bill so I can't really complain

My download is round 10 MB a second and my upload is around 1.6 MB a second, this is from me actually seeing where it caps in real time with actual files and not with speedtest.

I love how disproportionate up speeds always are compared to down.

My download is around 6MB down and 1.6MB up, which is pretty respectable for what I need.
