THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Awesome, Team Fortress 2 added a Competitive Game Mode! Played my first match, went medic, no one on my team died, and we steamrolled the poor bastards. I should go Medic more often.

It is possible, but probably depends on what OFW the unit has...maybe you need a particular game too idk. I haven't looked into it for some time so you would need to do some research. I never checked about ps1 on Vita but I'm guessing if PSP CFW works you should be able to use all the same sorts of stuff

Vita definitely is the better handheld (I use a grip kit with mine so it feels more like a normal console controller). I even prefer it over my o3DS XL with circle pad pro.

    Spoiler warning:

did sony improve on the thumbstick or is it still the crappy psp style?
thumperbunnyeve~If Purchase does not entail ownership, then sharing shouldn't mean piracy.

They are proper sticks but still aren't as good as dual shock type sticks. PSP type is like 3DS...they aren't sticks just slide pads.

The Vita is a great handheld, well and truly let down by its lack of support. Paper weight. Thinking about selling mine and my 64GB memory card.

I should probably check the used Vita memory cards at EB next time I'm there, I don't really need the extra space atm but I wouldn't mind having a spare card.

Yeah not many good games on it really...I mean games I would like that aren't available on another platform.

    Exclamation

please can a staffer knock that pink ui shit my side off?
not funny, and that level of hue will fuck up my eyes and monitor.
    ...
two above, agreed to the potential side of it.
    ...
    immediate above.
    good luck with that!
seriously, fucking extortion, and compare that capacity and class up against a goddamn xd-sd/mcsd or compact flash/x-ide card.
    ...
cex in uk like to hike shit up, won't link, results vary on the users location, not a flat rate it seems?
    i digress.
if it was possible to adapt the vita OR get 3rd party sm support for it, i'd be a little happier....
was given for free, so i can't complain..
i had high hopes for it, beyond an extension of a ps3 ui. (wifi/upnp user stream and hw interactions)
wanted it ALL, so i could retire ALL prior psp versions in favor of a tv hookable, dual sm sockets for volume storage.
    psp bc.
ps3/4 pad sync allow...if apps account for it.
    ...
\AND wtf the vita specific had to offer.
    but NO!
$ony lied, got greedy and left a LOAD of pw-traps out there, costly ones.
they'll be few vitas out there with a healthy bit of gear, and psp-side cracked, WORTH getting in that case. (the door is open, gateway breached, matter of time before it's addressed by the cool-kids.)
    ...
it's a crying shame, all it serves as my side, is a ps3 ui extesion, but fuckin shite resolution, NO different to the ps-upnp stream rates.
    bullshit.
    ...
oh, cex had a 128g vita user mc in a while ago, went for nearly 200quid sterling iirc?!
and that's a sort of ripoff ebay gouging pawn place.
smak generators, but as little 'classier'
    can't polish a SHIT!
nor will i be forced to agreed SHIT is a pearl. :finger:
    [edit]
    correction.
    300 quid.
    typo.

Prices in all CEX stores are the same. It's all done off what the prices are on their website...

Sony may reserve the right to create proprietary peripherals. The memory cards themselves have been so since the ps1 in fact. You didn't hear people complaining that they couldn't hook up their 3.5" floppy to their ps1, did ya?

Nah man, but people like Madcatz and Blaze made PS1 memory cards. Only Sony make PS Vita cards, and they're extortionately priced.

That doesn't make those prices any less shitty, especially considering they've all but abandoned the system now .
