    Default CDRDAO and Sega CD

I'm trying to burn Sega CD cue/bin files with CDRDAO.

Does anyone know which settings are best to use? I'm able to burn Turbo Duo games fine.

When I burn with default settings (using Earth Worm Jim), it plays fine. But all the music is static. The sound FX are fine though.

So I use the "swap" argument to byte swap the audio files. Now the music is perfect, but none of the sprites load!

    sudo cdrdao write --speed 4 --device /dev/sr0 --driver generic-mmc --swap --datafile Earthworm\ Jim\ -\ Special\ Edition\ \(Sega\ CD\)\ \(U\).cue

I've tried the best and the worst CD-R discs.

Ecco the dolphin won't get past the sonic sega screen...

    Thanks!

Special burning software is not needed, you should be able to use imgburn for everything on default settings (though would still set the burning speed to 1x it will auto burn at your hardware's slowest speed that will not be 1x and can't see it being 4x either to be honest, not unless you have really old hardware and the 4x rule was when the slowest speed was 4x except for even older burners that 4x would of been too fast )

The Sega CD drive although can read CD-R's was only ever intended to read pressed CD's for games and much like most console CD drives, it may need the CD pot tuned to read CD-R's smoothly, but that may in turn degrade the pressed CD readability.

Imgburn is windows software though (it is free) but not sure what OS you are using

Ahh. do you know how to tune the laser? There's just a little knob to turn on it, right?

Not sure for a Sega CD most just have a small pot (looks a little like a screw head (but it's not)), normally you do just use a screwdriver and gently turn it by a slight nudge (a full turn would just break it so it's less than an 8th you want to turn it by, so small a turn it may not even feel like you moved it (that small a turn ))

The locatio0n may be different depending on what laser unit is provided in the console as well as the Sega CD model

You can try google images or just a basic google search and see if you can find info for your exact model of Sega CD laser
