Please help with MAME Wizard of Wor speech issue

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I searched here on Emuparadise, but didn't find a solution.

I'm using MAME v0.172b 64-bit, and I've downloaded the ROM for Wizard of Wor(WoW) from this site, and tracked down the speech samples. The game plays fine, but without speech. I really miss the taunting of the Wizard! Could someone that has WoW working please give me some advice? What version of MAME you're using, source of files, etc.?

You have the directory set correctly?

That is most likely the case, in both FBA and MAME all the Roms and additional game files must be in proper directories (and have those directories set) and then they will run correctly.

I suggest you use a version of MAME that has a GUI like MAME Plus or MAME PPK then its easy street to setting those up.

I just have the sample files in the same dir as the WoW ROM.

OK. Now I feel stupid. I totally forgot there was a samples dir. That's what I get for trying to get MAME set up in the middle of the night.

I suppose the audio sample files go in a subdir of the "samples" directory named to match the ROM.

Duh.
