Unhappy Price of new music CDs are outrageous

I have not bought many cds in the last 2 years, and no it's not because I download my music only or whatever I just have not been found of too much of the music that has been put out these last 2 years. Anyways I felt like actually buying a cd or 2 of some older music artists ( nirvana, and Green day ) to my shock I seen that cds that are not on sale are average in the price rage of almost 20 dollars I can not beleave this, and then the RIAA, and others dare blame p2p programs for thier troubles to hell with them, till they get thier heads out of you know where and make cds a decent price again they could kill the web as we know it, and I still don't beleave people would buy cds anymore like they used to with these insane prices.
Please post your views, and taughts here as well thanks.

If you mean 20 american dollars, then you're getting ripped off. But you might be happy to hear that Universal announced a major price drop in their CDs yesterday, and other record companies will no doubt follow suit...

The Warehouse is good for cheap cds, and sometimes they're even pretty high quality. Ten bucks for double-disc albums is always good, and that's in our crap NZ currency. Five USD, probably. I have to go elsewhere for most albums, though.

You Englishmen and Americans have it good. Can you say 35 bucks for a decent CD? It's bullshit.

As DM said, chart CDs are pretty cheap here, but to get something that's actually half decent brand new, you have to spend some 15-20 pounds... Which is pretty extortionate... Usually I buy second hand...

Yeah, on the whole, decent music is WAAAY too expensive, even over here. I was in one shop, and Dream Theater's 'Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence' would have set me back 25 had I bought it from there...

It's pretty rediculous here...not as rediculous as you guys are saying, but all the lesser known bands have the prices jacked up. The only good deals you get is the good bands that land on MTV once or twice and everyone thinks they suck because they're too caught up in the pop-punk Simple Plan and Good Charlotte crap. Like Alkaline Trio, Vendetta Red, Finch, Taking Back Sunday, and some others were only like 7-10 bux (American) a piece. But yeah, I wanted to buy a Ramones greatest hits type deelie, and it was nearing 20 bux. Same thing with Dropkick Murphys, Rufio, Coheed and Cambria, Lagwagon, gah, I could go on...

Oh my that is insane, I don't think that is fare to charge that much anywhere, I mean really how much can shipping and all the other nonsense excuse the music companys could add really cost. Music should be availble to everyone, thats the way I have seen it, and thats the way I will always see it. If music companys charge to much then I think people have a right to get it in any other way they can.

Here, in HMV and Virgin, it's only like 12 for most albums... pretty good after hearing how much they cost in other places... The only thing is, they rarely have any good CDs in stock...
