    Default Baldur´ s gate

    Hi everyone

Im not even sure i can play Baldur´s gate with an emulator. But i´ll start by saying, i have the original discs, bought in a 4-1 boxset 1½ years ago, now with W10 installed, that game wont run anymore. Ive installed it, ran it with a W7 compatibility, DL´d an ancient patch that fixed some issues. I can install the game, but when i click the launcher and press play, nothing happens. Ive asked on Bioware´s webpage with no success, been through 2 FB pages for the game, several suggestions tried and no solution.

If someone here has a solution i´d love you forever, if someone can help me to an emulator that will actually play the game through the discs or picking up the emulated version through this forum, then i´d be very happy aswell.

I just want to play this amazing game again

Thanks in advance for your help

You can't select anything older than win7 for compatibility

Don't assume anything with win10, I would try XP mode. Then again it may not want to work on 10 at all

I suspect it just wont work on W10 at all. Which is why i wanted to find an emulator for it

    Edit:
Just tried, it just wont run regardless. W10 sure killed loads of things. Getting very tired of it.

Well if you have loads of ram I guess you could try running an older OS virtually, maybe? idk

    Edit:
Yeah I would try a virtual machine. It seems 10 has known issues with DRM games (apparently it's for better security), though I doubt that's relevant in this case. But try running XP virtually as this is a known way to get around OS compatibility issues. Another thing I read was to reinstall OpenAL (I'm not sure if this is for old versions or EE tbh).

I have not got W10 yet - so I can't say if this works. Sounds promising though.
