Would love to get the mame full set but it's 50gb and to be honest, I don't have enough patience for that

I can understand why it's such a big download and it persuades people to get premium but even then, I'd still prefer to download it in my browser, no torrents required even if it means I'm stuck downloading at a lower speed.

Another point about full sets is that over half of the games have rom files that are the exact same as other roms but are labeled as bad dumps for one reason or another. I can't see anything wrong with roms labeled as bad dumps and neither can most people, it's good for rom hackers and that's it so in my honest opinion, I think they should be removed (think of how small the files would be).

TL:DR full sets over a certain size (10gb?) should be split into parts and roms labeled as bad dumps shouldn't be included.

I haven't looked at whatever romset you're looking at. But, depending on the archive settings and file layouts and sizes, it's very possible to compress bad dumps to virtual nothingness. So it's possible kicking 100+GB of "bad" dumps off a set will save less than 1GB off the compressed archive.
