    z80 is a dump of the memory stored in the ram chip of the ZX Spectrum (aka a snapshot [not exactly the same but similar to a save state, the difference is the state of the emulator itself is dumped not just the ram])
    tape is a dump of the sound forms from the original cassette tape

    there are a few games for the Spectrum that could not be fully played from a snap shot as they are bigger than the ram storage and would load more data at a later stage from cassette tape or floppy diskette
