Says it all.. what does (PAL) stand for at end of Dreamcast files? I also have found that some files don't download into .cdi format and just come as a list of files. How do you mount and play those games? Thanks for any help!

PAL means the games are European (also Australia, New Zealand and some other places).

Dreamcast emulation is far from perfect just a pre warning
The best way to play Dreamcast games is still from a Dreamcast console, fortunately most Dreamcasts can play those with no kind of modding
Anyway it depends on the emulator used
There are only 2 for PC currently worthy of use currently
nullDC 1.0.4 r150 and Demul
nullDC it's Options>GDRom>Select Default image (You can also set that up to prompt Select Image on File>Normal Boot)
Demul It's not too different, don't have it to hand to look though
nullDC is overall the best option but demul can run a few things that nullDC can not (WinCE based games only work in demul)
Things like Chankast are old junk, although showed promise early on in Dreamcast emulation, they are not worth using
