    Moved to General Gaming.

Do you realize the PS4 is not backwards compatible, right?..

I think the general idea of his petition is to try to force Sony to add backwards compatibility for them, though i could be wrong

You can still play these games on your PS3.

That's cool and all but we don't even know if that's technically possible.

Comparing the Steam business model to PSN is ridiculous. They aren't the same thing at all.

Sony already has numerous games that are cross-purchases, so when you buy a PSN game it's playable on several platforms. These games were coded to be playable on the various platforms available, and the work required for that support was built into the price you paid to buy the game. This feature is only implemented where it's practical for the developers to do so. Just because 2 games seem identical doesn't mean the code running them is identical.

The PS3 is a different architecture to the PS4 and emulating it on that hardware will be no easy task.

A petition got Xenoblade and some other JRPG's to America so it could work if there's enough support. I may not have a PS4 but I would like this.

No petition got new games released in America. It was nothing more than poll showing the outstanding interest to pay a company a sizable amount of money to justify license and distribution in the states.

The difference here is that Sony would have to invest hundreds or thousands of man hours to engineer backwards compatibility for free.

    Won't happen for free.

Something that really needs to be done is PS TV compatibility with the entire Vita library.
