going to have to get a generic ac adapter for it probably end up selling it(or trying to).
    Sweeeet.

And yeah most of the old cart systems are very reliable. Early CD systems though....tend to be pieces of crap.

Lens's are typically alot more sensitive and complex than connector pins.

    Also

THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

I'm aware of why and obviously it's no surprise that early versions of something are a bit finnicky. I expect I will have to repair my SUPER CDROM2 attachment some day. Whereas I doubt I will ever have to fix my SNES, Core Grafx, Genny etc...

I bought my Sega CD (model 2) non-functional but got it working pretty easily.

Just took it apart, cleaned it, greased the gears and put it all back together.. I was figuring to have to replace the lens but didn't have to.

Model 2 Sega CD is very easy to deal with. Everything inside is fairly modular. Even replacing stuff is super simple.

Indeed. Cars, appliances etc...all that stuff is computerized now and designed to be a pain in the ass to fix.

They're easier than you'd think, honestly. Worst part is removing the old surface mounted caps and hoping they haven't leaked too badly.
