How to upgrade from EmulationStation to EmulationStation 2?

How do I upgrade from EmulationStation to EmulationStation version 2?

I followed the (mostly accurate) instructions on how to turn my Raspberry Pi 2 into a RetroPie box here: http://howchoo.com/g/n2qyzdk5zdm/bui...tro-gaming-rig

When my Pi 2 boots up, it goes into EmulationStation just fine. I tested it with Doom and it's working. I'm having a controller configuration issue. I'm hoping that upgrading to EmulationStation 2 will fix it. I've been scouring Google but I haven't found any step-by-step instructions for how to EmulationStation 2.

I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. Any help is much appreciated!
