Default Playing Wii games (dolphin) using only a GC controller

Can this be done through some sort of custom configuration? I have Wii motes but would like to experience these games using GC controller. I really I would be able to only use GC to navigate through the Wii intro screen all throughout the gaming experience.

Well you could configure dolphin for keyboard initially then use something like joy2key or xpadder to map things to your controller.

Yes, if you have a GC controller, you can get one of these: "Mayflash GC Controller Adapter for PC" which is a USB adapter you can plug in 2 GC controllers to use with Dolphin.
There are a handful of Wii games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl (and I think Mario Kart Wii) where you can configure GC controller(s) but leave WiiMotes as none configured.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (for example) will recognize and give priority to the GC controller and you should not need a Wii remote connected to play.
